The Our Home Marketplace magazine was first published in 1997 by Marshall and Lil Elkin in McLean County. Marshall and lil joined the McLean County Chamber of Commerce in 1997 and have continued to support the chamber by being Chamber of Commerce ambassadors by attending most ribbon cuttings, Business After Hours and Business Before Hours events.

Marshall is also a member of Business Network International (BNI) since 1998 and continues to be active in BNI.
